Individuals, like you and me, claim, build, and defend it instead of outsourcing their responsibility. From the dawn of civilisation until today, every leap forward has come from men and women choosing personal agency and self reliance over passive hope. Yet passive hope is what we see more and more in our times, friend, and this is not a good sign for our future.
THE SYMBOL OF SELF RELIANCE IS A CALL TO ACTION
This truth is not a new theory, but a proven reality. Look at history’s greatest transformations. Real change always begins when ordinary people with honest hearts decide to think and act. Ordinary people who also decide to bear the consequences of their actions themselves.
You will need courage to face life’s complex challenges. Do not surrender to the comfort of external heroes or saviours who promise you shamelessly simple solutions. Genuine excellence demands that you stand on the unshakable ground of your own judgment and effort. This task asks you to have a voice and act on your words.
REJECT EXTERNAL AUTHORITY
The refusal to accept permanent, unquestionable rulers — whether earthly or divine — drives every free society. It drives every breakthrough in human dignity and every step toward well-being. And our choice today is no different, friend.
YOUR PATH TO POWER BEGINS WITH DOUBT AND SCEPTICISM. The only future worth building, the only justice worth having, and the only liberty worth keeping are the ones you secure with your own mind and hands, in a community that does the same. Turning away from the promise of perfect guidance will transform your helpless waiting into unstoppable, purposeful action. Make doubt and scepticism your tools and never stop asking questions.
REFUSE THE IDEA OF A CELESTIAL DICTATORSHIP
During dark moments, in challenging times, the weight of your challenges can overwhelm you. In such periods, surrendering yourself to the “divine”, friend, will be a tempting choice. But this will be a choice rooted in a lie. A fantasy written by fearful men, desiring control over you. Reject the notion of an all-controlling higher power that removes personal moral responsibility. This is your first step toward real freedom and self reliance.
Whether this all-controlling higher power is your father who never leaves you to choose, a party leader you cannot remove, or worse, a dictator in the sky who you view as god promising eternal damnation if you disobey his orders, craving such a ruler is designing your own prison and condemning yourself to death.
NO AUTHORITY IS TRULY PERMANENT
If fear strikes your spine, and paralysis cements your feet when you read these words, remember, friend, that there is no permanent authority. When millions in Eastern Europe from 1989–1991 rejected the “infallible” communist party and its divine-like claim over truth, the Berlin Wall fell and the Iron Curtain collapsed.
In 2010–2011, Tunisia and Egypt proved as well that no authority is truly permanent when individuals withdraw their consent. This is because the power is not coming from above, but given from below. You and I both hold the power to choose: remain passive and be ruled, or take responsibility and build the world around us.
CERTAINTY IS NOT WORTH HAVING
Absolute security and impermeable belief offered by any ideology are temptations that kill your curiosity and growth. Embracing risk and independent thought brings far greater rewards. But these rewards will only be available to us if we dare to mock and ridicule the ones claiming ultimate power.
We can see this clearly in the events of 2015, after terrorists attacked Charlie Hebdo for satirical cartoons. Millions of simple individuals around the world declared “Je suis Charlie.” This global discharge defended free expression so powerfully that it strengthened press freedom laws across Europe. It proved that ridicule, backed by mass individual boldness, can defeat even violent attempts at censorship.
ACCOUNTABILITY THROUGH SELF RELIANCE FUELS REAL MASTERY
Strong communities and just societies are built when every person faces the full consequences of their choices instead of hiding behind unaccountable leaders. DECISIONS WITHOUT PERSONAL COST BREED DISASTER because only when you pay the price for being wrong do you learn to be right. Responsibility forces you to learn; centralised power makes you evade it.
A world where progress and well-being are not opposite forces requires individuals willing to live by greater standards — not waiting for saviours, but becoming the example others wish to emulate.
YOU DO NOT NEED HEROES
As a free individual, friend, understand that there are no final solutions, there is no absolute truth, there is no supreme leader, on Earth or in the skies, there is no totalitarian solution that can fulfill the promise that if you will just give up your freedom of exploration, if you will just give up your individuality, if you will simply abandon your critical faculties, a world of bliss and endless perfection will be yours.
Reject such claims wherever you hear them. Grand rabbis, chief Ayatollahs, sanctified popes, great leaders of political worship, adored heroes of the screens – we have absolutely no need of any of this. And if you are honest, friend, when you look at them and the results of their actions and the intense sentiments of their supporters, you will realise that they are the great impostors of our world, the hypocrites making you feel like you are the pretender who poses to deceive.
Do not wait for saviours, do not crave heroes. The path of your life is not dictated from above. Your fate is not random chance. Choose your future. You do not need heroes. You do not need saviours. The heroes and saviours you seek are all within you. Your life, your choices, and your responsibilities are yours alone.
